Equality of Circumstance

The ultimate goal of the left-wing Statists is equality, at least for those who are ideologically driven, rather than driven by greed and power that holding such positions brings to them.  These are usually the professors and various heads of non-profit organizations who have no ability to truly profit from taking left-wing stances, but benefit from their recognition of holding them up.  Politicians usually fall into the latter category where many of the so-called leftist are really just looking for their next payout from a corporation or organization that would have been left alone were it not for the politician’s meddling.
The ideologue faction is who I am concerned with now.  This faction usually is the one that comes up with their ridiculous ideas and the monetary faction is the one the implements and subsequently manages to profit from it.  The ideologues have for years now been pushing this notion of equality that we all somehow seem to lack.  For the ideological left, this is their Holy Grail.  When all people are equal, then no one is special and everyone will get along.
It is a nice thought and the allure of such a thing can easily be seen by anyone who has no real religion.  After all, we are a broken people, imperfect in comparison to some ultimate perfection that we can all imagine but few of us have ever really seen.  While the problem has been debated and will continue to do so, the solutions have yet to be perfected.  If you believe what I believe, they never will be and so we should all just leave each other alone, save for the taking of life, liberty, or property through force or fraud.
The solutions that many of the ideologues have proposed has been what really amounts to an attempt to make all of our circumstances equal.  It started with the equality of wealth, where everyone was to get the same amount for whatever work they did.  Unfortunately, this does not work out as it should because not all work has the same value.  Even when you look at the same profession, the value of that work varies from person to person.
After equality of wealth was push, and it continues to be pushed, equality of circumstances took it much further.  Racial divides are nothing new in the history of mankind.  There has always been racial preference and bias.  Now, that does not justify racial prejudice, but I hope it gives it some perspective.  This country is probably one of the first to make such a huge effort to fight against it.  The ideologues attached to this notion of racial equality after so many decades of supporting abortions and euthanasia of what they viewed as lesser races.
These days, the ideologues are pushing for equality of all circumstances.  For example, if you have a mentally disabled child, many of these folks believe that it is OK to euthanize them.  In fact, one of the first things many doctors will ask a pregnant woman, if he believes the baby has Down Syndrome, he will ask if the mother wants to abort the child.  I have heard of these stories before and I do not doubt them to be false.
The bottom line here is that the ideologues seek to create a world of perfection where everyone can be anything and no one will suffer.  But everyone is different, indeed God made sure that many of us would be different in many ways.  We are all individuals with our own beliefs and standards, only using a template to dictate our actions in various circumstances.  However, we can never anticipate every circumstance we face in life and that is why there can never be an equality of circumstance.
But the ideologues will call for blood if they have to in order to achieve it.
