So Facebook went down yesterday for roughly five hours world-wide. And the cry of millions of teen girls was heard the entire time. It was like demons screeching in the storms.
The rest of us had peace and quiet for about five hours. Those of us who still had lives and interests outside of stranger-friends liking what we type on a data-harvesting website were fine. We all just too time to enjoy our day off and move on.
I personally wasn't affected by it. I've not had a Facebook account for a while now and it hasn't affected me in any adverse way. Although, I'm pretty sure Facebook is going to mandated in the future, but until then, I'm not there and won't be.
But once the five-hour reprieve from Big Tech madness was over, Americans flocked back to their favorite sites and started to bloviate about how they felt good that Facebook was down and how it was so great. On Facebook, of course.
There's a lot of speculation as to why it was down. I frankly don't care. I will state that this wasn't an outage. A web product on that scale would have backups and redundancies in various regions around the world. A worldwide outage is nearly impossible for a company that big.
Beyond that, there is only speculation.
If you're on Facebook, for whatever reason, just leave it. Delete your account and don't look back. It will be better for your overall spiritual health. And it will probably improve your social life.
