When I was a kid, my parents made the mistake of sending me to a government skool. Now, I don’t hold it against them because they went to the same kind of school and they genuinely believed they weren’t subjecting me to child abuse in doing so. There are several incidents I recall where teachers were flat out wrong on their teaching, were mean-spirited, or were just plain incompetent. But the worst of it was all my fellow classmates who felt the need to bully me on a regular basis.
It was painful and I hated it. The insults, the fights, and the social shunning were all part of the game. Most people looked at me as weak and to a degree, they were right. Most of the idiots who live around me were, well, idiots. These so-called friends are mostly losers these days and some are probably in jail. I wouldn’t know anymore, but that’s not important. I don’t know why people felt the need to pick on me, I guess I’m just an easy target, but it happened a lot from emotionally retarded individuals who don’t know how to properly interact with others.
Nowadays, there is no such thing as physical bullying. At least nothing as severe. Once a kid is old enough to go on the Internet, he engages in cyberbullying. And these days, losers are literally committing suicide over it. It’s really quite pathetic. I’m not really impressed with the current rash of bullying because it’s really childish. I mean, you can’t pick on someone in person, but you can from behind your dad’s computer after you’ve masturbated to animal porn?
As for you so-called victims of cyberbullying, you all need to take a deep breath and get off the damn computer. Delete your Facebook account, your Twitter account, and whatever else you are lurking on and walk away from it all. If you cannot handle it, then why do you desperately log on in the hopes that some asshole is going to change his or her mind? You cannot change the minds of anyone with words alone. Nothing permanent anyway.
It’s really quite pathetic if you think about it. You go to the same sites day after day only to be harassed, insulted, and otherwise trashed by some worthless nobody whose own life is more pathetic than your own. I admit that in the past I have been where you are, but I’ve grown up since then. I got tired of being constantly harassed and mistreated that I’ve twice left a forum where I did have good friends (fuck you Voice of (no)Reason, you worthless, pot-smoking convict!).
Look, there’s more to life than a worthless social network. When you grow up and leave high school, you won’t see most of these people ever again. If you go to college, you probably won’t see any of those folks again after you graduate. You’ll move on and find other people. But as long as you continue to remain on the same social networks, the assholes will never leave you. Life is all about losing people, good and bad, and you need to have the maturity to deal with it accordingly.
In other words, don’t worry, it’s only a game and real life is much more than a bunch of comments and worthless pictures. Oh, and criminals peruse these social networks looking for people to rob, rape, and murder, not necessarily in that order. Save yourself the trouble and log off.
