Welfare: A Fraud and a Scam

The latest from Detroit is that people are swapping food stamps for Viagra and booze.  This does not surprise me and it should not surprise any of you.  This is what happens when you allow those kind of people to get free stuff.

I know, you think I was making a racist remark.  Well, I do not see how referring to lazy people is racist, but I guess you have me there.  I am not intelligent enough to make the connection between calling people lazy and seeing how that is racist.  But that is OK as I am sure that whoever reads this will have my back long enough for the lazy people to punch me.  If they happen to be up to it.

The welfare system in our country is pure insanity.  It makes absolutely no sense, it helps next to no one, and trillions of dollars disappear every year into it.  Yet we all sit back and assume that the government is not mishandling it.  In terms of food stamps, I am pretty sure there are suppose to be restrictions on them.   I remember standing in grocery lines and seeing a man unable to buy lactose free milk with his food stamps.  Apparently he should have just gone for a bottle of jack and headed to the pharmacy for some love drugs.

But that is a minor point.  Government is always rife with inefficiencies.  In fact, the larger the organization, the more likely you are to face inefficiency, although in the private sector it is less likely if there is heavy competition in the industry a person is in.  Government has the advantage of a monopoly because they can operate at a loss for decades until the people rise up in revolution.

The real problem is the welfare system itself.  It is ineffective at properly dealing with the poor and it is unconstitutional.  Now, if the state of Michigan or the city of Detroit wanted to have a food stamp program, then I am OK with that.  I just will not move there.  But the food stamp program comes from the Federal Department of Agriculture, one of the many government agencies that is unconstitutional.

The solution is to eliminate the welfare state.  It is not sensible and it is not even a Socialist system.  Under Socialism, you are placed in forced labor or put to death if you are not productive.  Ask anyone who lived through Pol Pot or Mao Zedong’s rule.  Joseph Stalin never suffered lazy people either.  Those who were incompetent were usually placed in forced labor camps.  In fact, no Socialist regime ever catered to the lazy.

I have no idea who came up with the idea of welfare, but I wish I could go back in time and kick that guy in the nuts.  If it was a woman, as it may well have been, then I would probably just punch her in the stomach.  As it stands, the welfare system is not progressive and it is making no progress on anything.

There are still poor people out there.  For some reason, they now think that the government will provide them with whatever they need.  Before they simply had no hope and thus had to be motivated to do something, anything, to get food on the their tables.  Now they have been tricked into thinking that the government is some magical machine like on Star Trek where anything can be made out of nothing.

The problem is we are rapidly reaching the tipping point of the whole welfare scheme.  Soon there will not be enough producers to provide for the leeches on the welfare system.  We have aborted 40 million potential productive citizens in the past 40+ years and we have no made any meaningful reforms in working toward the elimination of the welfare system.

But, as I may have mentioned before, I have stopped looking to the government for solutions to all these problems.  Yes, it is important to vote for the candidate who you think is best to deal with these problems.  However, when it comes down to it, we all just need to simply find the solutions ourselves.  We are collectively responsible for the welfare state that we oppresses us today.  Politicians and leaders merely reacted to our desires.

So I am asking that all of you start doing the things you need to do in order to stay out of the government’s pocket.  Because when you are in the government’s pocket, it is very difficult to get out.
