Unpopular Ideas and Madam Speaker

I am quite impressed with Nancy Pelosi’s ability to completely neglect popular opinion and simply do what she wants.  But hey, that is to be expected from women who have reached her level of power and prestige.  Not that there is anything wrong with that, however, I doubt I would ever want to associate with a person like that.

She must have staff whose job it is to completely shield her from the criticism and simply agree with her asinine ideas.  Either that or she is just simply another puppet like Obama is.  In any case, she always seems to be on the wrong side of popular opinion of not just the American people, but Congress as well.

Take the public option in health care reform.  Now, the popular opinion among Americans is that we would rather not have it.  In fact, I suspect that the majority of us would not want health care reform in general as more than 77% of us are perfectly fine with what we have.  And when you are fine with what you have, you really get annoyed when people try to mess with it.

But her highness seems hell-bent on ensuring that the bill has a public option in it.  Even after the tea parties and the various townhall meetings where people expressed their distaste for the “reform” bill, she still persists on passing something she herself has probably never read and has not even had a hand in writing.  She continues to believe, for some reason, that we want this.  Only union thugs and low-church liberals really want this.  The rest of us just want our health plans to not be messed with.

Another thing she falls on the wrong side of is tax reform.  She has stated recently that the Value Added Tax or VAT is on the table as an option.  She has shutdown debate for the FairTax in Congress and instead goes for probably the only tax reform that only two other people have supported.  The VAT would be a tax at every level of production in our economy.  From the farmer threshing the wheat to the baker baking the bread and everything that happens in between, there would some form of taxation.  This cost would be passed on to you the consumer, but the total cost would be hidden and thus, we would never really catch on.  It is an insidious plan to fund her public option and it is exactly how Europe operates with their Socialized healthcare.

On the other hand, the FairTax has received much more support in Congress and among the people.  This is merely a tax on all new goods and services and is very transparent.  It would also replace all other forms of Federal taxation and still maintain their current revenue from taxation.  I will not go into too much detail about it, but it is an excellent reform of our current taxation system.  More importantly, it is much more popular than what Pelosi seems to support.

Lastly, Madame De Vil is currently in the process of suppressing a bill that is co-signed by more than 300 Congress members.  This bill is supported by the likes of Ron Paul, Barney Frank, and Dennis Kucinich.  It is the bill to audit the Federal Reserve and ensure that they are doing their business all neat and proper.  Our glorious Speaker has basically ensured that the debate on the passage of that bill does not happen.  She is fighting against the majority of her own Congress people on this one.

It really makes me wonder if she is taking some kind of payoff from someone.  Does she benefit from keeping the Federal Reserve above scrutiny?  I will be willing to bet that they have bought her off in order to keep from facing the judgment of Congress.

The Speaker of the House is the highest position among the House of Representatives.  This means that the person who has that position not only has the responsibility to ensure that his or her constituents are represented, but that the floor of the House has proper debate and facilitation of the legislative process.  Nancy Pelosi is a terrible Speaker and an arrogant one to boot.

She brings disgrace to the office and if the Democrats in Congress had any sense, they would boot her out the first chance they get.  She serves them no good but only highlights how corrupt and immoral the Democrat(ic) leadership has become.

Someone who is unwilling to hear out the ideas of others or even allow a fair debate is nothing more than a simple jerk.  That is probably too nice a word to describe our current Speaker of the House.  She must go as she will only bring harm to us all.
