I'm sure from the title, you're all wondering why I would say such a horrible, Nazi-like thing. Well the truth is this isn't something I came up with. It is something that another environmentalist came up with. I just read this story about how a woman who thought it was horrible to keep have kids because of the "carbon footprint" they would leave. During an abortion, she asked the doctor to sterilize her as well. She even had this to say:
"'Having children is selfish. It's all about maintaining your genetic line at the expense of the planet,' says Toni, 35, 'Every person who is born uses more food, more water, more land, more fossil fuels, more trees and produces more rubbish, more pollution, more greenhouse gases, and adds to the problem of over-population.'"
What we are seeing here is a woman who is way off her rocker and clearly deranged. She has given up something that would be considered very precious and fulfilling in a misguided attempt to "save the planet." Nevermind that the planet is doing much better than radical eco-terrorists like her would have you believe, we're not even sure that we are destroying the planet. Most scientists who are in the field of climatology, environmental chemistry, etc. actually will tell you that things aren't that bad and that the environment has a tendency to adapt and fix itself over time.
Despite her flawed reasoning and immoral actions, I applaud her for doing the of society a favor and getting rid of her gene pool. With a woman like that, I wonder just how messed up any kids she might have had would have been.
But still, I doubt people like her will go away anytime soon. They tend to have a huge bullhorn and are perfectly willing to shout as loud as they can to drown out the voices of reasonable human beings. Never trust any organization, left or right or neutral, that appeals to you emotions rather then your reason. Doing so will only cause society great harm in the long run.
