Whoever you are, you're a laughable joke. You've clung on to the most irrelevant detail of the whole blog and think that this makes my account less factual.

The fact remains: Chris Kyle is a liar and a sociopath. He lied about punching Jesse Ventura and he has no qualms about boasting about his kills. No sign of PTSD with this guy, which makes him dangerous and wicked.

Ad hominem abusive, the more ill-tempered cousin of the standard ad hominem argument, is technically not a logical fallacy. Ad hominem abusive arguments do not purport to have any bearing on the debate. A typical ad hominem abusive statement might read
"You are an atheist/creationist/whatever, therefor, you are ignorant!" or, more simply "Shut up, moron!"
Most of these statements are designed(whether intelligently or not) to provoke the opposing side or to drum up good feelings among the people on your side of the argument.

While there is nothing ILLOGICAL about using it, per se, it is considered bad form in debate, because it demeans the target of the attack and seeks to cloud everyone's perspective on the truth by evoking strong emotions among everyone involved. While people like shockofgod do take refuge behind the emotional force of these statements, they have arguments of their own (albeit apparently shockofgod has to censor his channel's comments to keep his own from being refuted...)

Bottom line, while it is unfortunate that some people resort to ad hominem abusive statements to frame debates, there's no reason to assume that the other person does not know what he's talking about.

You're right, I usually don't know what these men and women go through. However, most soldiers are unwilling to discuss their combat experience as it is a hard to kill someone, even when you are justified in doing so. I once interviewed a Vietnam veteran for a school project and he told me flat out that he will not discuss combat situations. He told me everything else, but would not talk about combat.

I gave Mr. Kyle some leeway on his combat situations. I fully understand that in combat you have to make do or die decisions, often resulting in the death of others. Mr. Kyle, however, delights in boasting about the men and women he's killed, calling them savages. He's a lying sociopath pure and simple. He lied about assaulting Jessie Ventura and he has no qualms bragging about shooting women in front of their children.

Lastly, going to foreign land overseas to fight an enemy that doesn't have a navy to speak off is not defending this country. Perhaps you failed geography because last I checked, Iraq doesn't border our country and wasn't amassing a military force to be used against us or even Israel. If our leaders cared so much about defending this nation, they'd have the troops on the Mexican border. Yes, I am well aware that this flies in the face of well-established law, but ever since the NDAA was passed, it looks like troops can be used for domestic purposes now.

Science is open to peer review, and is constantly being challenged and attempted to be proven wrong by members within it's own community. Well, in all honesty, if your goal is just "bashing" atheists/atheism, you can't really complain if that sentiment is mutually expressed.

The issue that brought some of us atheists here is the feeling that there is a degree of misrepresentation to this story. There are many more factors here than just "Penn cowers in FEAR from SHOCKOFGOD!!!". I think you would have your doubts if you saw a title reading "D'Souza FLEES from Richard Dawkins!!!" In other words, it's pure spin. Perhaps "Penn refuses debate with Conservative" would be a more appropriate title?

Then again, I think we've already established that you are here merely to bash and not to discuss...

as an atheist, you should spend more time reading before you reply. Shock did not challange penn, the person who challanged penn said that he wants shock to be on his team, shock never added in any comment saying that he agrees to be on that debate team, nor that he joins the challange.

user conservative is the one that challanged penn, and from reading about him on conservapidia, that user really is a troll, and several sysop's on that site want him gone.

Yes, it does seem the user conservative and shock are close friends, but unless shock is willing to admit that he writes some/all of the articles signed by conservative, he can't claim that penn ran away from him.

If you read the conservapedia article it clearly says Shockofgod would be debating Penn so Penn is referring to Shockofgod since he is the one that challenged penn.
